CNG Service Tech Training Program Begins April 20 at First Coast Technical College

In response to the growth of alternative fuels in Florida, First Coast Technical College (FCTC) has created adult continuing educational courses for the professional service technician covering compressed natural gas (CNG).  This five-day hands-on course is designed for the professional technician or automotive student and will teach them safety, service procedures, CNG vehicle fueling systems, the nature of gaseous fuels, and how to properly examine the various types of CNG cylinders and installations.

FCTC has scheduled sessions April 20 - 24, June 22 - 26 and August 17 - 21.  The cost is $1800.00 dollars per student, including tuition, fees, textbooks, handouts, lunch on campus and certifications.  This course will prepare the technician to take the CSA Group CNG inspector exam which costs $410.  FCTC is an authorized testing center for CSA allowing the technician to schedule the test once completing the training courses.  Visit the FCTC website to learn more and register.
